Thank you to everyone who joined us on October 6, honoring Chris Ajemian as our first ever Artist In Industry!

It is still possible to make a contribution to the artist commissioning fund, which will support the work of a single artist in our Fall 2017 Season.

The Artist In Industry Award recognized Chris Ajemian for his important contributions to The Chocolate Factory and the wider arts community, and for his business achievements as the founder and Chief Executive of CATES Tutoring. Furthering Chris’ commitment to innovation and the arts, Chris asks that contributions in addition to ticket purchases be made to help endow a commissioning fund to support the work of a New York-based dance artist in the FY17-18 season.

“I wanted to thank you all for joining us in celebration – of many things – on the evening of October 6th. I was incredibly touched and humbled by your support and generosity and cannot thank you enough. In thinking back to the evening, I realized that the relationships in the room literally spanned the highlights of my entire 42 years: from my mother (who began it all!) to Michele Klatch (a school friend since 3rd grade and now work colleague) to Sean Malley (my best friend from Boston College) to the dozen or so theater and education colleagues to Marcus Hagenbarth and my fellow board members at Chocolate Factory to new friends like Reggie and Sonia. It was truly a memorable night and an experience I will carry with me forever.”

Chris Ajemian parlayed his Theater degree into CATES, a full-service education support company with locations and clients all over the world. He has designed cutting-edge, large-scale programs for elite educational and charitable institutions and has earned recognition as an innovator in his field. His creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and drive toward innovation find kinship in The Chocolate Factory, of which he has been a proud principal Board Member for the last 5 years.
