Fist in the Pocket - Washing Machine

June 22 - July 7, 2007

Photo | The Company

Directed by Helen Hayes nominee Michael Chamberlin, Washing Machine is inspired by the traumatic and mysterious true story of a 5 year old girl who drowned inside a Laundromat washing machine in Chilhowie, Virginia in 2005. Taking place entirely inside the washing machine, the play re-imagines the girl's final moments of breath as she struggles to escape. As the wash cycles change, the girl (played by Dana Berger) hallucinates, transforming into various characters who may be responsible for her death.
