THE (re)CYCLE PLAYS are multi-media theater performances with social and environmental themes that will be performed outdoors in the summer of 2007 in a community eco-festival setting. In the 15th century, the original Cycle Plays were morality plays based on biblical texts, from Creation to the Last Judgment. THE (re)CYCLE PLAYS will celebrate and "recycle" this theatrical ritual while promoting sustainable practices as viable, eco-effective solutions to today's foremost moral issue - the ecological degradation of our society. The two nights will also include an 'eco-lounge' in The Chocolate Factory ground floor designed and curated by Learned Evolution. The lounge will feature sustainable furniture, art installation, organic and bio-dynamic drinks, local community initiatives, and afterparties each night with custom-made 'recycled video mixes' by the UK's AV Mash-up masters Eclectic Method.
